Venous thromboembolism (VTE) affects 15.6% of pancreatic cancer patients, significantly higher than other malignancies. Key risk factors include tumor location in the body or tail, poorly differentiated tumors, stage IV disease, metastasis, and elevated D-dimer levels post-surgery. The study’s findings emphasize the need for early identification and management strategies for these high-risk patients to prevent serious complications.
