Endoscopic Resection for Small Non-Ampullary Duodenal NETs Shows Promise

This multicenter study demonstrates that endoscopic resection of small non-ampullary duodenal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs ≤10 mm) is effective, showing high en bloc resection rates, and low complications.

  • Achieved en bloc resection in 97.2% of cases with R0 resection in 72.2% (26/36 lesions).
  • Adverse events occurred in only 5.6% of patients (1 bleeding, 1 perforation), with no recurrences reported during median follow-up of 48 months.

Surgeons should consider endoscopic resection as a viable option for treating appropriately selected small duodenal NETs.
