High-grade Tumors Increase Lymph Node Metastasis Risk in T1 and T2 Colorectal Cancer

Out of 765 patients with T1 and T2 colorectal cancer, 11.3% had lymph node metastasis (LNM), leading to a poorer recurrence-free survival (RFS) compared to patients without LNM (72.6% vs. 88.6%). Multivariable analysis revealed that high-grade tumors were a significant risk factor for LNM. Radical surgery should be considered for T1 and T2 colorectal cancer patients with high-grade tumors to improve their prognosis.
