The systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials compared laparoscopic appendectomy with single port (SILA) to the conventional three-access laparoscopic appendectomy (CLA). The analysis included 21 studies with 2646 patients. The results showed that SILA had a significantly longer operative time, especially in pediatric cases, but no statistically significant difference in postoperative morbidity. SILA had shorter hospital stays, fewer wound infections, and a higher conversion rate, but these results were not statistically significant. Further research is needed to assess postoperative pain and cosmetic outcomes.
