Surgeons, especially those with smaller hands and women, face challenges due to the mismatch between hand size and surgical tools, leading to pain, injuries, and disabilities. This mismatch contributes to musculoskeletal disorders, impacting female surgeons and potentially causing workforce shortages. Legal revisions are proposed to address these occupational hazards, ensuring better-fitted tools and mitigating the impact on surgeons’ well-being and workforce sustainability.
