Comparison of laparoscopic liver resection outcomes in centers with and without liver transplant programs

Centers with liver transplant programs in France perform more difficult laparoscopic liver resections for hepatocellular carcinoma in cirrhotic patients compared to centers without transplant programs. Despite this complexity, both types of centers showed comparable safety and quality of care in terms of postoperative severe morbidity and mortality rates, demonstrating that all centers can achieve good outcomes in laparoscopic liver resections regardless of their transplant program status.
