Studies on 196 participants reveal that converting sleeve gastrectomy (SG) to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) significantly improves quality of life (QoL). Following conversion, there’s a notable reduction in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms, proton pump inhibitor (PPI) use, and positive outcomes in excess weight loss (EWL). However, the limited number of studies and varied QoL assessment methods emphasize the need for standardized tools in evaluating QoL after SG to RYGB conversion.
