Curative laparoscopic surgical treatment for symptomatic common bile duct stones showed a 93.1% success rate, with low immediate postoperative morbidity (24.4%) and reintervention rate (5.3%). Mortality rates were zero and 0.4% at immediate and 6-week postoperative, respectively, with an average length of stay of 11.3 days. Factors contributing to procedure failure included early postoperative complications and readmission. The study suggests laparoscopic surgery can be effective for treating symptomatic CBD stones without needing additional procedures.
