Crucial Prognostic Factors in Ampullary Cancer: Nodal Staging and Lymph Node Examination

Patients with ampullary cancer benefit from examination of a minimum of 20 lymph nodes to accurately predict prognosis and minimize stage migration. The log odds transformation nodal classification scheme showed the highest accuracy in differentiating survival outcomes. Additionally, nodal metastasis in regional lymph nodes is linked to poorer outcomes post-surgery.
