Comparison of Gasless Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Approaches Reveals Similar Safety and Efficacy

A clinical analysis of a new multifunctional instrument set for gasless endoscopic thyroidectomy with transaxillary and transareolar approaches was conducted on 180 patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma. The study found that both approaches using the same instruments had similar outcomes in terms of surgical resection, complications, and postoperative results. Despite differences in cavity construction times, the procedures showed comparable safety, efficacy, and cosmetic results, highlighting the potential for cost-effective standardization in gasless endoscopic thyroidectomy procedures.
