High FDG-Avidity in Pancreatic Cancer: 96.3% Tumors Detected, PET Utility in Initial Staging and Neoadjuvant Therapy Planning

Baseline fdg-pet imaging in treatment naïve pdac patients revealed 96.3% had fdg-avid tumors with median suvmax 6.4. fdg-pet identified suspicious extrapancreatic metastatic lesions in 50% of patients, with pet/mri being superior in detection. Ca19-9 elevation did not affect fdg-pet’s performance, highlighting its utility in initial staging and neoadjuvant therapy planning.
