Hybrid Surgical Approach in Esophageal Cancer: Real-World Validation of MIRO Trial

A national cohort study validated the external validity of the MIRO randomized controlled trial in a real-life population within France by comparing postoperative complications in esophageal cancer patients. The hybrid approach was found to be protective against severe respiratory complications, with no significant difference in 30-day mortality or leakage rate between surgical approaches.
