Post-ERCP Cholecystitis: Incidence, Characteristics, and Outcomes

The study describes 17 cases of post-ERCP cholecystitis out of 4428 patients undergoing ERCP (incidence 0.38%). Cover metal stenting resulted in a higher incidence of cholecystitis (1.50%). Symptoms appeared at a median of 5 days post-ERCP. Management strategies included cholecystectomy and endoscopic stent removal. These findings can help in understanding procedural risks and guiding treatment decisions.
