Prospective Benchmarking of Distal Pancreatectomy Outcomes

This prospective study assessed benchmark outcomes for distal pancreatectomy (DP) across Spanish HPB centers. Key findings include a median DP rate of 7 per center, 69.3% performed minimally invasively, with a major complication rate of 21.1% and a 90-day mortality of 1.6%. Compared to previous benchmarks, this study showed an increasing rate of minimally invasive surgery and shorter hospital stays, likely influenced by ERAS protocols and comprehensive data collection.
