Adjuvant Chemotherapy Improves Survival in Esophageal Cancer Patients with Residual Disease

Adjuvant chemotherapy significantly increases long-term survival rates in patients with residual esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery. Pathological lymph node status and adjuvant therapy were identified as independent prognostic factors. Adjuvant chemotherapy is especially beneficial for patients with nodal metastases.
