Significant weight loss and improvements in body composition and metabolic biomarkers were observed in obese patients after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. These positive effects were seen regardless of the presence of metabolic syndrome. Visceral fat area and liver fat were notably reduced, indicating the effectiveness of this surgical intervention in improving health outcomes.
