Frailty and TG/PG Increase Risk of Postoperative Pneumonia in Gastric Cancer Patients

Frailty and total or proximal gastrectomy (TG/PG) were found to be independent risk factors for postoperative pneumonia (POP) in patients with gastric cancer undergoing gastrectomy. A simple risk assessment method combining these factors effectively predicted and prepared patients for POP, with a 5.5% incidence rate and an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.740.
