Comparing Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor Outcomes Between Geriatric and Non-Geriatric Patients

Population-based analysis shows lower overall 5-year survival rates in geriatric gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients compared to non-geriatric patients. Surgery significantly improves survival rates in both groups, with geriatric patients having higher hazard death ratio. Clinical management for geriatric patients may benefit from large prospective studies.
