Comparing portal vein embolization (PVE) with simultaneous portal and hepatic vein embolization (PVE/HVE) in liver cancer patients showed significantly higher overall survival with PVE/HVE. The study demonstrated a longer 3-year overall survival in the PVE/HVE group compared to PVE alone, making PVE/HVE an independent predictor of survival in primary and secondary liver cancer cases.
