Operative time for laparoscopic cholecystectomy by trainee surgeons is affected by factors such as surgeon experience, patient characteristics, and certification. Male sex, higher BMI, and lack of endoscopic skill certification in attending surgeons were associated with longer operative times. Skilled attending surgeons can help reduce operative time and improve outcomes in laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
