Triage Score for Identifying Trauma Patients in Need of Emergency Surgery

Study analyzed prehospital factors associated with the need for emergent procedures within 6 hours of hospital admission. A triage score was developed from predictors such as age, penetrating injury, and vital signs, showing good predictive power in identifying patients requiring immediate surgical or non-surgical procedures. This tool could enhance prehospital triage accuracy and resource allocation in trauma cases.
