CPL-01, a long-acting ropivacaine, significantly reduced postoperative pain intensity scores and opioid use in open inguinal hernia repair patients. Subjects receiving the highest CPL-01 dose showed clinically meaningful pain reduction, requiring fewer opioids and experiencing faster recovery compared to placebo and naropin groups. CPL-01 demonstrated safety and predictable extended-release pharmacokinetics, potentially offering a new nonopioid analgesic option for postoperative pain management.
