Metabolic surgery patients who achieve a healthy weight experience greater metabolic benefits compared to those with %twl >20%. This study determines the optimal weight loss target for substantial benefits post-surgery, identifying healthy weight as a more stringent goal than %twl. Patients with lower preoperative BMI saw more improvements and relief from comorbidities, emphasizing the importance of setting individualized weight loss targets for optimal metabolic outcomes.
