Perioperative Inflammatory Indicators Predict Disease-Free Survival in Rectal Cancer

Perioperative inflammatory indicators, including preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and postoperative systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), are crucial for predicting 3-year disease-free survival (DFS) in rectal cancer patients. A nomogram based on TNM stage III and neural invasion effectively stratifies high-risk patients, enabling timely postoperative follow-up and adjuvant treatment. The model demonstrates good discrimination and calibration, highlighting its clinical utility in prognosis assessment and patient management.
