Higher Intraoperative Blood Pressure Reduces Post-Bariatric Hemorrhage

Increasing intraoperative blood pressure to 150 mmHg systolic, without staple line reinforcement, significantly reduces post-bariatric hemorrhagic complications. A retrospective study of 438 patients found a reduction in postoperative bleeding rates from 10% to 5% after implementing this intervention, with a decrease in revisional surgery for bleeding. The method shows promise in improving outcomes without additional surgical techniques.
