Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision Yields Low Recurrence and High Survival Rates

High-volume centers in the USA saw positive results with Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (TaTME) for rectal cancer. The study of 391 patients revealed low rates of local recurrence, high completion rates of TME specimens, and promising 3-year overall survival. These findings support the oncologic safety and perioperative benefits of TaTME when conducted by skilled surgeons in specialized centers.
