Income Changes and Pancreatic Cancer Resection

Income changes do not significantly impact the rate of patients undergoing surgical resection for early-stage pancreatic cancer. A study including 23,968 patients from 173 counties across 11 states showcases an overall resection rate of 45.1%, which increased from 42.8% to 47.4% between the early and late time periods. Notably, disparities in surgical intervention between lower-income and higher-income patients have decreased, indicating improved access to care and reduced healthcare disparities.
