Robotic pelvic lymph node dissection reduces complications in rectal cancer

Robotic pelvic lymph node dissection in locally advanced rectal cancer shows more nodes harvested and fewer complications, particularly urinary retention, compared to laparoscopic dissection. Operation time was longer with robotics, but lymph dissection time did not significantly differ. Overall, robotic surgery demonstrated improved outcomes and safety profile. Further research is needed to confirm these results.
