Analysis of revisional and conversional sleeve gastrectomy procedures with concurrent hiatal hernia repair showed increased operative time, risk of postoperative pneumonia, and readmission within thirty days for patients with hiatal hernia repair. Despite these findings, patients undergoing laparoscopic revisional or conversional sleeve gastrectomy with hiatal hernia repair did not experience higher risks of death, postoperative bleeding, leaks, or reoperations. Overall, complications were low, suggesting that hiatal hernia repair is a safe option in early postoperative care.
