Meta-analysis comparing robot-assisted and laparoscopic surgery for gastric cancer in patients with high visceral fat area found that robot-assisted procedures had longer operative times but lower major complication rates, including fewer abdominal infections, leaks, and abscesses. No significant differences were observed in hospital stay, blood loss, or lymph node yield. Overall, robot-assisted surgery appears to be a viable option for obese patients with visceral fat, offering comparable surgical outcomes with reduced major complications.
