Among elderly colorectal cancer patients, right-sided colon cancers (RCCs) demonstrated better long-term outcomes compared to left-sided colorectal cancers (LCCs). RCCs were more prevalent in female patients with renal comorbidities and a history of abdominal surgery. They were larger, invaded more deeply, and had unique histological characteristics. Patients with RCCs had significantly longer cancer-specific survival and relapse-free survival, indicating sidedness as an independent prognostic factor.
