Colorectal cancer in elderly patients presents unique challenges with high morbidity and mortality rates. The CO-OLDER WSES project aims to collect data on patients aged ≥75 years with complicated colorectal cancer requiring emergency surgical management. This global study evaluates modifiable risk factors and outcomes, comparing pre and post-COVID-19 periods. By providing insights into effective management strategies, the project seeks to enhance assessment, treatment, and results for elderly patients with obstructed or perforated colorectal cancer in emergency settings.
