Following bariatric surgery, patients with gout benefited from uric acid-lowering medication, exhibiting reduced gout attacks and serum uric acid levels. Patients who continued medication showed fewer gout attacks and decreased serum uric acid levels after 6 months, compared to those who did not receive treatment. This highlights the importance of postoperative uric acid-lowering therapy in managing gout in patients undergoing bariatric surgery.
