Endoscopic vs. Surgical Gastroenterostomy Shows Similar Success for Gastric Outlet Obstruction

Retrospective multicentric study comparing surgical and endoscopic gastroenterostomy for gastric outlet obstruction (GOO) revealed similar technical and clinical success rates, post-procedure outcomes, and mortality between the two procedures. Endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastroenterostomy (EUS-GE) showed advantages such as shorter procedure duration, lower complications, and shorter hospital stay. Findings suggest EUS-GE as an effective alternative to surgical gastroenterostomy for GOO management, especially in experienced centers.
