Primary Suturing for CBD Stone Removal: Safe and Effective

Primary suturing after microincision of the cystic duct confluence is safe and effective for treating CBD stones in patients with a normal CBD diameter. A retrospective study on 104 patients with gallstone complications showed no significant differences in perioperative outcomes between normal and dilated CBD groups, with no biliary tract injuries or laparotomy conversions. This approach offers a promising treatment option for CBD stones, particularly in patients with preoperative imaging indicating a normal CBD diameter.
