Computed tomography-based vascular burden index accurately predicts vascular resection and pathological vascular invasion in pancreatic cancer patients post neo-adjuvant chemotherapy. The study found that the vascular burden index values, specifically around adjacent arteries and veins, significantly predicted vessel resection and invasion. These indices, particularly the regression of vvbi and avbi, were independent prognostic factors for survival, highlighting their potential utility in pre-operative decision-making and patient management.
