Establishing a dedicated center for trauma survivorship generates increased revenue and significantly boosts follow-up visits and necessary procedures for severely injured patients. Financial data from a pre and post-cohort study showed that patients treated in the specialized center not only had higher subsequent visits and underwent more surgeries but also contributed a substantial net revenue increase per patient. Contrary to assumptions, the financial burden of establishing such centers is outweighed by the positive impact on patients’ outcomes and the institution’s financial performance.
