A comparison of distal pancreatectomies across North America and Europe revealed that minimally invasive techniques were performed in 36% of cases, varying from 29% to 54% among regions. This approach demonstrated significantly lower 30-day mortality (odds ratio 1.633) and fewer severe complications in North America and Germany compared to open surgery. Notable patient demographic differences indicate varying stages in proficiency across countries. The Netherlands had the highest adoption rates for minimally invasive and robotic procedures.
