Body composition changes during therapy influence pancreatic cancer survival.

A study involving 138 pancreatic cancer patients revealed that increases in muscle mass (over 5%) and adipose tissue (over 15%) during neoadjuvant therapy were linked to improved survival rates (hazard ratios of 0.352 and 0.375, respectively). Conversely, a loss of visceral fat exceeding 15% adversely affected survival (hazard ratio of 1.853). Notably, dynamic anthropometric analysis outperformed single-time measurements, suggesting its potential as a biomarker for tumor biology and therapy response.
