A systematic review and meta-analysis compared endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ENBD) and percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage (PTCD) in advanced hilar cholangiocarcinoma patients. Results indicated PTCD had a significantly higher success rate and was more effective in lowering total bilirubin levels post-drainage. While ENBD showed a lower overall complication rate, it was associated with a higher risk of post-drainage biliary hemorrhage. Clinicians should consider these findings when selecting a drainage method.
