Force feedback technology significantly reduces tissue forces in surgery

A pre-clinical study reveals that integrating force feedback (ffb) technology in robotic-assisted surgery significantly decreases both mean and maximal forces exerted on tissue across various surgical tasks, including retraction, dissection, and suturing. Specifically, the maximal force decreased by up to 55% when using high sensitivity during these tasks. Notably, reduced force application was consistent among surgeons of all experience levels, suggesting potential improvements in clinical outcomes by minimizing tissue trauma and blood loss.
