Virtual collaboration enables safe robotic pancreatoduodenectomy program

A structured robotic pancreatoduodenectomy (rpd) program was successfully initiated with virtual expert collaboration, demonstrating excellent perioperative outcomes. Over 68 patients underwent the procedure from August 2020 to December 2023, achieving a median operative time of 407 minutes, an estimated blood loss of 150 ml, and 90% negative margins. Notably, the operative time significantly decreased in later cases (380 min vs. 441 min, p < 0.01) and conversion rates dropped from 21% to 6%.
