N-Butyl-2-Cyanoacrylate Adhesive Matches Effectiveness of Absorbable Tacks

N-Butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (nb2c) adhesive proved non-inferior to absorbable tacks in improving pain levels at six months following laparoscopic groin hernia repair, according to a trial involving 284 patients. The adhesive is deemed both safe and effective for mesh fixation and peritoneal closure, with comparable patient and hernia characteristics across groups. This study addresses chronic pain issues linked to penetrating fixation methods, marking a significant advancement in hernia repair techniques.
