Laparoscopic resection demonstrates significant efficacy and safety for non-elite colorectal cancer patients. A comparison of 450 stage II/III patients revealed that those undergoing laparoscopic procedures experienced longer operative times, lower postoperative complications, faster bowel recovery, and shorter hospital stays than their open surgery counterparts. Additionally, after employing propensity score matching, the laparoscopic group displayed considerably reduced complication rates. Overall, 5-year survival rates remained comparable across all groups, indicating a promising approach for non-elite cases.
