Significant improvement in survival rates for colon cancer patients

A comprehensive evaluation of non-metastatic colon cancer outcomes revealed a nearly 10% increase in overall and cancer-specific survival rates over the last two decades. The analysis, encompassing over 195,000 patients, highlighted demographic disparities, particularly in proximal cancer cases, which were more prevalent among older, female patients. Improved survival rates were consistent across all colon segments and stages, indicating advancements in treatment and awareness of colon cancer management.
