Combining PRP and NPWT enhances healing in pressure ulcers

A combination of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) demonstrates superior efficacy in treating pressure ulcers. In a study involving 90 patients, the combined treatment resulted in a 95.56% effective rate, significantly higher than the 80.00% found with NPWT alone. The combination also led to reduced infection control times, shorter wound healing durations, and lower complication rates. Overall, the approach effectively mitigates inflammation and pain, accelerating recovery.
