Predictive model developed for cachexia in gastric cancer patients

A new prognostic model for cachexia in postoperative gastric cancer patients was developed and validated across two cohorts. Focusing on twelve key factors, the model achieved promising performance with AUC values of 0.805 in the training set and 0.795 in the external validation cohort. Calibration and decision curve analyses confirmed its clinical utility, enabling healthcare professionals to identify patients at risk for cachexia, thus facilitating timely nutritional interventions to improve patient outcomes.
