Consensus recommendations established for enhanced recovery in hernia surgery

This research analyzed 295 elements from six specialized centers, pinpointing 24 key themes across every stage of ventral hernia repair. By assessing current enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols, the study showcases a unified framework that may help standardize practices and improve patient outcomes. The proposed consensus recommendations were crafted by the ACHQC Quality Improvement Committee to address the significant variation in existing protocols, paving the way for more effective guidelines in hernia surgery recovery.
