Sleeve gastrectomy has shown profound benefits for metabolic health in a cohort of 199 patients, revealing significant reductions in weight, BMI, and abdominal circumference. Notable improvements in diabetic patients included decreases in fasting blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin levels, alongside a marked reduction in insulin resistance and serum insulin. Additionally, enhancements in lipid profiles and inflammatory markers were documented. These findings underscore the procedure’s effectiveness in addressing obesity-related health issues within six months post-surgery.
