Simulation training enhances medical students’ endoscopic skills and knowledge

Simulation training significantly improved medical students’ knowledge and confidence regarding endoscopic procedures. After engaging with a simulator for gastroscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), participants reported enhanced understanding of gastrointestinal and biliary system anatomy. Self-perceived knowledge regarding the purpose and steps of endoscopy increased notably (p < 0.001), and 95% expressed that this training should be further integrated into the medical curriculum, emphasizing its value in fostering effective doctor-patient communication and procedural competence.
